Rhetoric Schmetoric

I'm sorry I haven't written for a while but this really pissed me off.

So House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) makes a statement:

"The situation in Iraq and the reckless economic policies in the United States speak to one issue for me, and that is the competence of our leader," Pelosi said. "These policies are not working. But speaking specifically to Iraq, we have a situation where -- without adequate evidence -- we put our young people in harm's way."

Asked specifically if she was calling Bush incompetent, Pelosi replied:

"I believe that the president's leadership in the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment and experience in making the decisions that would have been necessary to truly accomplish the mission without the deaths to our troops and the cost to our taxpayers."

Great Nancy, thanks for telling the American people how you feel about the Administration. Democrats with balls, thank heaven. BUT WAIT! Who's that in the distance, riding in on his patriotism bandwagon of greed, corruption and right wing idealism? Why its Tom DeLay (R-Oil Country):

"Nancy Pelosi should apologize for her irresponsible, dangerous rhetoric," DeLay, R-Texas, said. "She apparently is so caught up in partisan hatred for President Bush that her words are putting American lives at risk."

Thanks for making that statement Tom. You really clear things up. In fact, your statement reminds me of something else I just read:

"Why of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when teh best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, wheather it is a democrazy or a facist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship" -Herman Goering, Nazi Reichmarshall

"There is one difference. In a democracy the people have some say in teh matter through their representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars" (bold added for emphasis, Cheney) -Psycologist Gustave Gilbert, interviewing Goering at Nuremberg.

Goering continues:

"Oh, that is all well and good...but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to do the bidding of he leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country. "

Holy crap. Lets review that last part, shall we:

but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to do the bidding of he leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country. " -Nazi Reichmarshall Hermann Goering.

Can't forget this one either:

Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism as it is a merge of state and corporate power. - Benito Mussolini

Somebody get Mr. DeLay his german shepard and his uniform! Oh wait, you totally tried to serve, but never got the chance. Sorry Tommy.

Then, there is always this guy:

"The San Francisco/Boston Democrats led by John Kerry have now adopted 'Blame America First' as their official policy," RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie said in the statement.

Yeah, blame America is totally the same as BLAME THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. In case you forgot Ed, Bush didn't win the popular vote, so technically his administration isn't "America". Nancy Pelosi blamed the cabal of war mongers, not "America". Stop wrapping yourselves in my flag and let me make some sort of attempt to save the country from the RNC's new slogan:

Facism, its better than being a liberal! Bush/Cheney '04

We can win and we will win.

WAR,
